Our Story

Every good story has an element of danger.  A threat to something infinitely precious.  And a mission to protect what's of value despite hardship. 

We've found that in the best stories, what's precious is children!  After all, they are the inheritors of our sum choices, our heritage, what will exist of us when we are gone!

It certainly is the case in our own story.  Our firstborn was born with several health problems, despite one of us attending nursing school before he entered the world.  It was only when we started learning more about nutrition and the actual sources of our food that things started to turn around.  It's been an almost 14 year journey to learn about our health, and we are always learning more!

One thing that's been constant in this journey is juice!  Most days we start with a glass of fresh-squeezed liquid gold.  It's easy to digest, gives us quick energy, and helps us feel our best!  Eating a plant-based diet has also helped us stay healthy. But large family = lots of food waste!  And that means lots to compost!  

We hated just throwing away our juice pulp and scraps . . . our garbage bin filled up so quickly, and we also learned that when food waste goes to a landfill, it can create a larger amount of methane because it doesn't have enough oxygen to breakdown.

Being a busy family, we also didn't have a lot of time to attend to turning a large compost pile every few days.

And we couldn't just throw it on the ground.  Racoons, foxes, rats, even black bears soon found us out!

Enter a solution!  

With a mechanical engineering background, we designed a compost tumbler.  But it wasn't just any compost tumbler!  Throughout our health journey we also acquired a strong distaste for plastic.  We knew we wanted to use a metal-based composter, but we couldn't find one that fit the bill.  One that wasn't insulated in polyethylene foam.  One that was easy enough for our kids to turn everyday to build that habit into our lives.  One that would last our family through its entirety and bless the generations after us!

Our goal is to bless your family or organization with a quality product that not only makes your life easier, but most importantly, enriches your health and our world at the same time.  Compost for life!
